Heidenau Adventure Tyres
Adventure riding means not knowing what's around the next corner. The tarmac runs out. Gravel starts. Or something worse. That's the whole point — and that's exactly what adventure tyres are built for.
Heidenau makes several options for this kind of riding. The one question that drives the choice: how much of your typical route is paved, and how much isn't.
If it's roughly half and half — that's the K60 Scout. The tread is aggressive enough to clear mud and grip dirt, but it doesn't feel wooden on the motorway and behaves sensibly in the rain. Available in a wide range of sizes, from mid-weight bikes to fully loaded GS and Africa Twin-class machines. Tube-type fitments for spoked wheels included.
The Ranger is a Scout that's done with tarmac. The split shifts to 30% road, 70% everything else. The open tread pattern works better in ruts, on single tracks and loose surfaces. The carcass is reinforced for higher puncture resistance — on a remote route with no tyre shop for two hundred kilometres, that matters. On the motorway, though, the Scout is the more comfortable choice.
If you're more tourer than enduro rider — spending most of your time on tarmac on a heavy adventure bike — look at the K76. Long service life, smooth ride, 19- and 21-inch front sizes. No off-road heroics, just steady miles.
Then there's the classic shelf. K37, K41, K46, K67 — block-tread tyres for vintage enduro machines, military bikes, and custom builds. Period-correct look, modern compound. The K37 SW is the reinforced- carcass version for sidecar combinations.
And for mopeds and lighter machines: K32, K42, K52, K57. Smaller 16- and 17-inch sizes with enduro tread patterns. K57 is available as M+S Snowtex for colder months.
