Heidenau K60 front 90/90-21 54T TT
K60 is the base model of the Heidenau K60 family: the manufacturer's recommended split is 40% tarmac and 60% gravel. Within the family, K60 Scout is set up for roughly equal road and dirt, while K60 Ranger is built for serious off-road (30/70). The front 90/90-21, with a load index of 54 (212 kg), is the most common 21" size in the line.
Key features
- Grip on tarmac and gravel: the large-block tread pattern holds on unpaved lanes and on the tarmac stretches between off-road sections alike.
- Self-clearing: wide grooves and large gaps between the lugs throw mud out as you ride, so the pattern doesn't clog on a soft, wet track.
- Mileage and grip: Heidenau names the combination of the two as a defining property of the K60 — a selected compound works together with a purpose-built carcass.
- Comfort on the road: Heidenau K60 is built to get you to the dirt section comfortably along the tarmac.
- Spoked wheels: the tube-type (TT) build suits classic spoked rims.
Tread and construction
Heidenau K60 carries a classic block enduro tread with a high proportion of open space. The TT (tube-type) version carries a T speed index, permitting speeds up to 190 km/h. The 90/90-21 comes with the front tread variant — K60 front. The standard K60 carries no M+S marking. For winter use, Heidenau produces separate K60 M+S versions with a silica-based (SiO₂) compound — you can see them in the Heidenau winter motorcycle tyres section.
Which motorcycles this size suits
The front 90/90-21 (K60 front tread) is the most common 21": it is found on modern Beta RR and GASGAS EC enduros, the Aprilia RX 125, and 80s classics such as the Laverda OR600 Atlas. The tube-type build is for spokes. Heavy adventure machines in this size usually run the tubeless, M+S-rated K60 Scout or Ranger instead.
Heidenau K60 90/90-21 suits light and classic enduros that live on the dirt but ride there under their own steam. If your routes are mostly tarmac, look at K60 Scout; for heavy adventure machines that live off-road, see K60 Ranger. Find your size in the Heidenau enduro tyre catalogue.
