Over the course of its more than 75-year history, HEIDENAU has grown from a small regional enterprise into a world-renowned manufacturer, whilst maintaining its independence in a market dominated by large international corporations.
Key Milestones:
- 1946: Foundation of the company. Initially named "VEB Heidenauer Gummiwerke", the factory specialised in the production of moulded rubber products and rubber roller coatings, with an official mission of "facilitating mobility".
- 1948: An important milestone in the company's history — the production of the first car tyres began.
- 1957: The formation and development of the main factory site were completed.
- 1969: The enterprise was merged with other specialised factories to form the large tyre combine "Pneumant-Reifenkombinat".
- 1989: Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, the factory faced challenging times of transition.
- 1993: A large-scale modernisation of production facilities was carried out.
- 1994: A decisive relaunch of the enterprise. After being acquired by the company "Gummi-Hansen", a new stage of development began under the historic and well-known HEIDENAU brand. This event marked the beginning of a phase of active growth, expansion of the product range, and further modernisation of equipment.
HEIDENAU Today: Tradition and Uncompromising Quality
Today, Reifenwerk HEIDENAU is an independent tyre manufactory located near Dresden (Germany). The company specialises strictly in the production of cross-ply tyres for motorcycles, scooters, classic cars (oldtimers and youngtimers), as well as tyres for motorsport.
For the brand, the "Made in Germany" seal of quality is not merely an advertising slogan, but a fundamental pillar of its corporate culture. The entire cycle: from the development of new compounds to the actual manufacturing and strict quality control, is carried out exclusively in Germany.
Facts and Figures Today:
- The company employs around 200 highly qualified staff.
- The product range includes over 550 different tyre modifications.
- The brand's products are officially exported to more than 60 countries worldwide.
The secret to HEIDENAU's success in the global market lies in the combination of 70 years of rich tradition, a significant proportion of meticulous manual labour, the highest quality standards, and flexibility in meeting individual customer requirements.
