K80 is the sports road model in the Heidenau range — built for riders who move quickly on tarmac and change direction often. The defining quality of Heidenau K80 is a high level of grip combined with strong wear resistance, delivered by a modern elastomer compound technology. The 80/90-17 size, with a load index of 50 (190 kg), is most often fitted to the front wheel of lightweight road machines, though the size itself is versatile — it is not tied to one axle.

Tread and construction

Heidenau K80 80/90-17 is a bias-ply tyre: the size designation carries neither a B nor an R. It is supplied tubeless (TL), suiting cast wheels and tubeless spoked rims alike. The carcass is reinforced (Reinf.), giving headroom for luggage and a pillion. The S speed index permits use up to 180 km/h — ample headroom for this class of motorcycle. The tread pattern is a road design with water-dispersing grooves.

Application

80/90-17 is the smallest and narrowest size in the K80 range: it is often seen on the Honda Trail 125, where it runs at both ends, as well as on the Keeway RK 150 and RK 200 and the Serpento Naga 200.
